Pete Jackson 20th December 2009

I don’t intend to ramble on much because Phil would know it was out of character for me, but as we all go through life we make friends, however, you are very fortunate if it requires more than one hand to count the number of genuine true friendships. We feel very fortunate to have Phil and Jane to include in this category. Even though we only met 11 years ago, they quickly became part of our lives, then indeed our best friends. We have shared many good times together, we have had many holidays together, played golf together and certainly laughed together and even over indulged in the odd beverage together. We all know Phil had his own unique sense of humour, he could always be relied upon to see the funny side of any situation, especially if you were the target for such humour. Phil probably would not thank me for saying this, but under that wicked sense of humour was a warm and kind person, extremely genuine and generous. He would always be there for you if you needed him, with help and advice, offering a forthright opinion whether you requested it or not. Personally, I have been the recipient of much of his advice on the golf course, some of which was a physical impossibility. One thing is for sure, Phil has given us all memories, memories that will make it impossible for us to forget him. Today is going to leave a big void in all our lives. GOD BLESS PHIL !!!!
